- 5 - 6 tomatillos depending on size
- 3 - 4 serranos
- 1/8 white onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 6 - 8 sprigs cilantro
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup water as needed to thin out the salsa
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Add the tomatillos, serranos, onion, garlic, cilantro, salt, water, lime zest, and lime juice to a blender.
Blend until completely smooth.
With the blender running, stream in the olive oil until fully incorporated.
Taste and adjust seasoning or thickness as needed.
Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
- If you prefer less heat, start with 2 serranos and add more to taste.
- Use very fresh tomatillos for the brightest flavor.
