- 1 cup long-grain rice rinsed
- Pinch of salt
- 2 small cinnamon sticks
- 1 –2 whole cloves
- 2½ cups water
- 3 cups milk of choice
- 1 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 1 12 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup Nutella plus more for garnish
- Crushed hazelnuts for garnish
In a medium pot over medium heat, add rice, salt, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer 10–12 minutes until the water is mostly absorbed.
Stir in milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and vanilla.
Raise the heat to medium and simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture thickens.
Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves, then stir in Nutella until fully melted and incorporated for a creamy, chocolatey finish.
Spoon into bowls and top with a dollop of Nutella and crushed hazelnuts.
Serve warm or chilled.
- Use whole milk for the creamiest texture.
- Stir frequently near the end to prevent sticking.
- Add an extra spoonful of Nutella for a richer flavor.
- For a lighter version, substitute part of the condensed milk with regular milk.
