Creamy Piña Colada Agua Fresca

This creamy, tropical agua fresca blends fresh pineapple with coconut cream, milk, and a touch of vanilla and cinnamon for a drink that tastes like a piña colada without the alcohol. It chills in the pitcher until the flavors meld together and comes out cold, smooth, and impossible to pour just one glass of!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup Alta Dena Protein Milk
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 2 cups water, plus more to taste
  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp agave or sugar, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice, for serving
  • Fresh pineapple wedges, pineapple leaves, and maraschino cherries, for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the fresh pineapple chunks, Alta Dena Protein Milk, coconut cream, water, agave, lime juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt to a blender and blend on high until completely smooth and creamy, about 1–2 minutes. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  • Transfer to a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. It tastes significantly better cold and the flavors meld and develop as it chills.
  • Serve over ice and garnish each glass with a fresh pineapple wedge, pineapple leaves, and a maraschino cherry on top.

Notes

  • Use the ripest pineapple you can find, a ripe pineapple is naturally sweeter and means you’ll need less added agave to get the right flavor balance.
  • Don’t skip the 30 minutes of chilling. The flavors genuinely develop and round out in the fridge and it tastes noticeably better cold than freshly blended.
  • The pinch of cinnamon is subtle but important. It adds a warm, rounded depth that keeps the drink from tasting one-note sweet and tropical.
  • If the agua fresca thickens too much after chilling, stir in a splash of cold water before serving to loosen it back to a pourable, drinkable consistency.
