Ingredients
- 5 – 6 tomatillos depending on size
- 3 – 4 serranos
- 1/8 white onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 6 – 8 sprigs cilantro
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup water as needed to thin out the salsa
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Add the tomatillos, serranos, onion, garlic, cilantro, salt, water, lime zest, and lime juice to a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth.
- With the blender running, stream in the olive oil until fully incorporated.
- Taste and adjust seasoning or thickness as needed.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- If you prefer less heat, start with 2 serranos and add more to taste.
- Use very fresh tomatillos for the brightest flavor.
- Streaming in olive oil helps create a velvety finish—don’t skip it!
