How to make Brazilian Lemonade

Brazilian Lemonade

This Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshing, creamy, and slightly tangy drink made with whole limes, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar. Despite its name, it’s made with limes rather than lemons, resulting in a unique and tropical twist that’s rich, vibrant, and perfect for cooling down on a warm day.
Blended quickly to avoid bitterness and served over ice, this easy drink is the ultimate balance of sweet, tart, and creamy—perfect for summer parties, BBQs, or simply treating yourself.

Ingredients

  • 4 limes preferably thin-skinned, each cut into 8 wedges
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2-3/4 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  • Wash the limes thoroughly, then cut off the ends and slice each lime into 8 wedges.
  • In a blender, add the lime wedges (including the peel), cold water, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Blend for just about 8–10 seconds until the limes are chopped up but not completely pulverized. Be careful not to over-blend, as this can make the drink bitter.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Use a spoon to press down on the lime pulp to extract as much liquid as possible, then discard the pulp.
  • Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness if needed.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the Brazilian Lemonade over the ice.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Only blend for 8–10 seconds to avoid extracting too much bitterness from the lime peels.
  • Thin-skinned limes work best because they have less pith, which can cause bitterness.
  • Add more or less sugar depending on your taste and the natural tartness of the limes.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, as the drink can turn slightly bitter if it sits too long.
  • For a fun twist, add a splash of coconut milk or rum for a tropical variation.
